Tarot is an entry point to spiritual growth and building deeper connections with others. I personally use tarot for self-reflection, mindful moments, emotional processing, and more! The imagery and symbolism in the deck of cards incorporate themes of psychology, humanity, and evolution.

  • Please feel free to bring your tarot deck(s) or any other resources that you'd like to use and share with the group.

  • Beginners and all levels of experience are welcome to attend.

  • Ideal for ages 18+

  • Tarot is a metaphysical practice that can support spiritual and emotional wellbeing. The tarot deck is a set of cards (commonly 78 total cards) that each represent different concepts, relatable human experiences, and archetypes. The cards often contain a mix of images, symbols, numbers, and artwork to depict each concept. By interpreting the imagery on the cards, their sequence, and their positions relative to each other, we can construct meaning that can guide our decisions, offer clarity, or indicate areas of growth.

  • Tarot readings are similar to a therapeutic session in that there is room for emotional discussion, self-reflection, and exploration of goals. The reading begins with a moment for grounding and setting intentions. We will then pull some cards together and begin interpreting them, keeping in mind the context and intention of the reading. You will have time to ask questions and explore any themes that come up in the cards. A reading can last between 30-60 minutes and take place in-person (Boston only) or virtually.

  • You can book a virtual reading online via our Calendly page: https://calendly.com/artandsoulclinic/tarot-reading. If you are nearby Boston, you can also book an in-person reading at your home or a public venue nearby.

Alternatively, you can reach us anytime via our contact page or email us at artandsoulclinic@gmail.com. We aim to respond within 48 hours.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Get a reading - try working with multiple tarot readers to get a feel for the range of styles/approaches available to you.

  • Get your hands on a deck of cards! The most effective method for me to get acquainted with the cards was by going through the deck often, thoroughly reviewing the booklet that came with the deck, and revisiting my studies consistently. (P.S. I don’t adhere to the myth that you must be gifted your first deck - I bought my first tarot deck as a gift to myself and an investment in my spiritual health!)

  • I began with the Rider Waite Smith tarot deck, a standard that is commonly used in the United States (and globally). The artwork in tarot decks by other artists is often derived from Pamela Coleman Smith’s iconic illustrations. I liked starting with this deck because of its widespread relevance in tarot books/media and because Pamela Coleman Smith (1878 - 1951) lived as a radical artist at the time.

  • Learn to integrate the information you find in credible references (i.e. the deck’s booklet, tarot books, podcasts, etc.) and your intuition. It is totally normal and perhaps even beneficial if the personal associations you have created for the cards are different from mine. Tarot is about creating your own spiritual lexicon through imagery and symbolism to gain clarity and insight.

  • Incorporate tarot into your creative practice. Make artwork, look up journaling prompts, write stories, listen to tarot-related music, etc. Check out some of my own tarot inspired artwork, including the collage pictured here.

I began studying tarot in 2023 after purchasing my first deck in Salem, MA. Since then, I have been deeply drawn to the study and practice of tarot and incorporate it into many aspects of my life. I currently offer tarot + art workshops to engage in deeper conversation about the practice, encourage others to learn and share their approaches, and create art inspired by the tarot’s spiritual themes and imagery. I also offer private readings at flexible rates to the community as a form of spiritual & emotional care.
